Pretty simple thread, just say, in your opinion, what the stupidest idea you've heard today was.
Personally, mine was a man I know, he recently sold his house, and therefore has the money in his bank account. He's planning on moving to Spain to set up a business, despite not knowing the Spanish language, and he has no intentions of learning it either.

Assuming his business idea is a good one to begin with (could be a big if of course) that's not necessarily a bad plan. Parts of Spain have effectively been colonised by the "Guiris" as the Spanish call the pasty faced lager set so knowledge of Spanish isn't necessarily relevant, no more than say fluency in Hindi/Punjabi would have been for an English speaker heading to India in the 19th Century. I know people who lived in the south of Spain years & could barely speak a couple of sentences of the language.
