Hi, I booked a return train ticket for a specific date but I was wondering would it still work if I got a train home on a different day? I know I'd lose my seat reservation but I don't really mind about that! Thanks :)

You have to call them and change it to another day.

you may have to pay extra if it's a dearer fare on that journey

You need to cancel and re-book. The ticket is not valid for travel on a different day that what is on the ticket.

If it was just a different time on the same day they can change the time for you with a fee of €10, but to change the date they will cancel the original ticket and give you a ticket for the new date which may be a lot more expensive than the original ticket you booked as it may not have the original discount. The €10 fee may also be charged but you will not pay more for the whole ticket than the normal price for an open return ticket for the journey.
