    Hello

I am currently on a means tested Jsa payment of 82 pw as I am under 25 and live with parents

I will be turning 25 next week, will my payment be increased automatically? Or will I have to make the social welfare aware of this?

Also is the payment 144 or 188 for this circumstance?

    Any help would be great

    Thanks

Payment won't change till your 26,

Your entitled to €144 till you turn 26

    Sorry

So will it be increased to 144 or stay at 82?

If you are currently getting €100 minus €18 for means, then you will get €144 less your means. Possibly getting 144 - 18, so €126 per week.
JA claimants without children aged 25 receive €144 a week. This weekly €144 rate will increase to €188 when they reach 26 years of age.

If the means on your claim are from your parents income these means will cease at 25. So in this instance you will receive €144 per from when you turn 25. This should be done automatically and will only come into affect from the date you turn 25 so the first week might be a partial increase and the full rate then the following week.

I turned 25 on saturday and went to collect my payment today, no increase, maybe because i only turned 25 on saturday and wont affect till next week?

I'm currently on 82 pw, 62 means deducted for parents income

It should have been a partial increase from Saturday to Tuesday. So the stop date may not have been inserted. I would suggest contacting the office and query the the rate.

JA week is 6 days and runs Wed to Tues so you should have had a half week at the higher rate. I'd say it's more likely that with the new regulations since January that the stop dates for changes were overlooked. It will be back dated once you speak to them .
