Ok over the weekend my misses and friends had an impromptu intervention.

Over the last year or so it has been a bit of a running joke
    -Been nicknamed ducky
-Been told i look like im holding a poo

    I dead-lift 140 and squat 110kg ass to grass.
    5-8 reps @ 88kg bodyweight
    Nothing to write home about

The Doms do mean i am in a little pain for a day or two.

Now I do go hard at the GYM and train for strength. I push hard and for two years no Injury other than having to step back if something starts to complain a little.

So the question, Is this normal or am I "overdoing" it? :o

Sometimes only one day? You're going to have to up your training! :D

Sounds like you're grand, they sound like they are in the 'dont try too hard' brigade. I've never met a high achiever in any walk of life that had that attitude.
If someone doesn't want to bust a gut thats fine but dragging down other people tends to be more about making themselves feel better about their lack of effort

I think he means the DOMs make him walk like a duck.

Do you have DOMs after every session, or just now and again? Now and again is normal, every session isn't abnormal, but I might look at what I could do to promote recovery (warm up, PWO nutrition, foam rolling, etc)
What gym do you go to? Just curious.

I get Dom's after any heavy squatting session.

Deadlifts or any other exercise do not cause me to walk like a duck.

I do however not want to train in a manner that causes any real injury but I do want results. I push hard because it works and I don't particraly care how The 90pc train as I see most make no gains.

Right now how I train works I see strength increases even under cutting

I just want to know from others that strength train. That a couple of days doms is normal.

Any tips to reduse the impact would be nice two.

DOMS are normal and active recovery is pretty good for me for recovering faster.

Fitness First just because they got me first and I have a gym buddy there.

Nutrition is ok. Warm up is done with a light set or two before ramping up in 10kg-20kg increments.

Stretching post and a light walk on the treadmill helps. I should really foam roll more.

Post workout I usually eat dinner. Which is likely some form of protein and carb.

Supplementation i have actually stopped as I eat more than enough protein and am more worried about greens.

Put your missus and friends under a bar and have them squat heavy. See how many jokes they make after it.

I'd be more worried if I didn't have any doms after leg day, or any heavy lifting set for that matter.

Should you really be getting DOMs that often?

I don't get them that much at all lately. Didn't get them once during smolov and I was lifting relatively heavy for that.

Probably not as often as he's saying. It'd be expected if you changed the stimulus though.

He's probably not eating enough if they're so bad he feels he needs to post.

What sort of frequency are you using for your squats and deadlifts?

i only get doms after squats if ive had a break. a week off and ill get very mild doms when i get back. but it wont affect me where id be limping. more than a week off and ill limp around for 2 days when i get back. i get no soreness once the routine is regular again.

i squat 3 time a week, progressively heavier and heavier.

if youve got constant doms and squat regular then you aint got doms.
