I've been doing some research on what kind of runners to get as I'm hoping to get back into running soon.

I had to quit for a while because I had plantar fasciitis in my right foot and seem to have fallen arches. So now I want to get a runner that supports that and will prevent injury.

I did the wet foot on paper test and both feet are a bit on the flat side of neutral, my right more than the left. The advice for this result seems to indicate that I over pronate and to get a shoe with arch support.

However, plantar fasciitis is more commonly associated with under pronation and the ware pattern on my work shoes is more heavily worn on the outside of the foot heel. The advice for this kind of gait is to get a cushioned shoe.

Does anyone have an ideas about this?

Go to Amphibian King they will sort you out, they come highly recommended.

There are a number of things which can cause PF, My advice would be to find the root cause before you make assumptions on the cure.

Pronation is natural, excessive pronation can be an issue but again there are a number of things which can cause your foot to pronate and not all of them are biomechanical.

Getting the right shoes is definitely good advice (and as was stated before AK have a great reputation in this regard) but they won't fix any underlying issues.

I seen someone recommending Amphibian King before. Bit far to go from Dundalk but I'm heading that way in 7 weeks maybe I'll pop in. Done more research and I'm pretty sure I should be going a cushioned shoe. Always had support before so may be that was the problem.
