AA car inspection

    Hi,

I just bought a new car and want to get the car checked before I complete the deal.

The car was on consignment with a garage so the deal is being done directly with the car owner. The garage are including a 6 months warranty and have just completed a service and the car has been recently NCT'd. This is a big purchase for me, so I just want to be sure to be sure.

Does anybody have any experience with AA car inspections or could maybe recommend an alternative in the Portumna area please?

    Thanks in advance.

The AA inspection costs a hefty price but I don't have experience of it so don't know if it is value for money or not. How much is the car worth that you are buying? Have you tried sourcing a mechanic locally to look it over?

Thanks for the reply. The car is over the €20k mark. I've tried sourcing a local mechanic to no avail unfortunately.

I think the likes of motorcheck.ie offer a mechanical inspection that might be cheaper than the AA. Might be worth looking into before going down the AA route.
