Buying refurbished goods from the US

    Hi guys i am looking at buying a refurbished item from the us i am wondering will i get done for duty or VAT on it ?.

    I have a VAY number and with that will i get around paying the duty

    As i know its 2nd hand per say but i dont know will it get done for duty.

    Only thing a VAT number does is to allow you claim it back and only if you can show it's required for your company. You'd still pay VAT on it even as second hand as long as it's meets the standard requirements for VAT; refurbished only means a slightly cheaper purchase price.
