Gone where the days when you would see free sample food while doing the weekly shopping in the likes of Dunne's, crazy prices, super value.

The free sausages would be the best sample.

You don't see many sample stalls anymore

It's been years since I've seen the free wine samples, often see food though.

Had a free sausage this morning in nutgrove butchers followed by cheese sample in tesco.
    I am stuffed now.

Marks and Spencer (off Henry Street) offer samples the odd time - they were giving out tasters of their cava/fizzy wine a while ago! I love booze samples :-)

Superquinn used to do it all the time, that's probably changed since that daft rebranding.

I see it the odd time in dunnes. I'm never offered anything though as I look like the type of person who doesn't have any money

They used to do cheese on a cocktail stick. Classy.

Costco in America is great for samples. A stall at the beginning of every aisle! Bring a date and you've got yourself a cheap dinner by the time you get to check out! ;)

M&S on Henry St/Jervis centre always have some samples knocking around. They had a really nice bit of cake going during the week!

I was in Dunne's a few days ago, and I was actually quite surprised when I saw a free sample stall for some Angus steak, I can't remember seeing free samples since I was a young child.(I'm only in my late teens now, so that wasn't too long ago)

Still get cheese, fairy cakes, salsa, pancakes etc etc in the Lucan branch.

Shoplifting pineapples...that takes skill! Fair play.

Surely the cost of flights for two to the United States, as well as visas and accommodation would cancel out the gain made on free food to a large extent, if not entirely?
