    Does anybody know how to convert from New Zealand BCS scale (1-10) to our scale? (1-5) its very annoying when reading NZ publications not knowing what BCS they are on about.

    Haha sorry maybe i used a few too many abbreviations, in New Zealand they use a different body condition score (BCS) scale to us. http://www.dairynz.co.nz/page/pageid/2145871854/Body_Condition_Scoring_in_New_Zealand
    Just wondering can anybody figure out how do you convert from their scale to ours

    I imagine that each 2 New Zealand points would equal one of ours so;

    N Z Irish
    1,2 1
    3,4 2
    5,6 3
    7,8 4
    9,10 5

    5 = 3.5 calving down
    4.5= 3 good condtion
    4= 2.5
    3.5=2 too thin
    3= dead from starvation
    This is a bit of a crude guide from my own knowledge of each bcs system
