    An absolute hero! For a man of his age to remain so calm under such circumstances is amazing.

    I think it was one of the Humberside controllers that said it was about a 30% chance of a good outcome. That seems high to me. The RAF crew seemed convinced that it was going to end in disaster.

    As an ex PPL , my blood ran cold at part of that

    Amazing story , well told ( good work Chanel 4 )

    He was one brave , and lucky bloke..... landing in basically complete darkness with no lights on his panel or anything !
