What rights have I when a neighbour pours petrol over my plants ,slams doors all the time early in the morning and night time . Turns down mediation 3 times . I have reported issues to the police 20 times nothing done. CCTV images of the neighbour caught damaging and banging my fence . Don't like any of our family in our own garden whether its cutting the grass or tidying up. His repose is to open and slam windows to let us know I am watching you. Tried talking to him no joy . Any advice please

Door slamming and window opening there is nothing u can do about.

Bring the CCTV to the station tomorrow. Make a complaint of criminal damage. Don't wait to report it.

If you are getting nowhere with the Garda, go over their heads and write to the Superintendant. Pouring petrol is way too much.
Use the words "formal complaint" and he will have to respond and even if he passes it on to the local gardai you will get more sense then

Did this last year when I was assaulted in public and the local Garda was havering and hedging and doing nothing and it got results. Did the same week with another event from the same "neighbour" and mentioned the words Garda Ombudsman.

Else the local force just does little and the situation gets worse and worse.

When I had the issue with my nfh we had to bring a case against the landlord as she was in breach of the tenant obligations.
We brought a 3rd party case against her with the prtb which was successful in our favour .
I had documented all her harassment with both video and pictures, gotten a cease and desist order from my solicitor and gotten character statements from other neighbours. The main point is to document EVERYTHING and inform the landlord of any breach of the peace.

The starting point is to determine whether your neighbour owns or is renting. If they are renting, the landlord has a responsibility for the behaviour of their tenants.

Are either of you freehold owners, leaseholders, or tenants?

The range of options may differ depending on above.

either way you should consult a solicitor
