Energy Monitor

Hi All, Where would I get an energy monitor? OH is after getting 2 extremly high bills recently from airtricity ( 700 & 500 ), and i think somethings a miss. The 700 would be okish as first 6 bills were estimates at roughly 150-200 but how the next one is 500 is beyond me. Any tips on where can get a monitor? Thanks
