What's Up Your Walls?

So, I'm in the pub (for a change) helping the barman pick new wallpaper for his establishment.

And it got me thinking. I would never in a million years have paper on my walls, it's tiles or paint all the way.

What do you have up your walls?

Rats most Sundays :( Freaky at the time!

Wallpaper can be nice though if it's plain and simple, not all striped with mad designs everywhere?
Also, are you still being served!?

    Magnolia.....EVERYWHERE.

The walls will be going black before I paint them magnolia when we buy a house.

Tell him not to get fooking paper for the walls.... when it gets dirty in a pub, it stays dirty! Tell him stop being a fool.

We have a choice between red and black stripes, a bookcase effect, a New York skyline, or a psychedelic balls thing.

Would post pics but it's too dark and my phone is too pissed.

And yes I'm still being served. Up yours, licencing laws. :p

He's notoriously tight, and notoriously a fool, but he's also notoriously taught me everything I know.

New York skyline sounds like it could be pretty cool.

Remember people in school who'd cover their books with wall paper, gas stuff.
Tinfoil would look good I think and open the room up quite a bit. You'd also be protected ;)

Renting, so magnolia covered woodchip. With pinky brown carpet and brown furniture. I'm so lucky.

All the wallpapering options as described sound hideous. I am going to plump for bookshelves. Even fake literature can't help but improve things.

No, but I could see it from my house if it wasn't for the tilt of the Earth!:pac:

Bleugh....bleugh...oh dear god no. This should be banned and only licensed for ironic use. Free the girder 12 (or how ever many of them there were) !

Does this bar have an open fire or two? Cos the bookcase option could potentially work very nicely if so.

    I feel your pain.

They all sound ****. And that sample of the skyline is just weird. Since when did the Statue of Liberty creep around corners?

a drop of white paint does the job.

has anyone ever shaked a protein shake and the lid comes off and the wall drenched in chocolate liquid?

Seen a few bars with the personalised wallpaper.
Vintage scenes from their area are always a hit. Gets people talking, when people talk they drink more so every one is a winner.

I recently decided that every wall in my home will get three coats of paint by September. I've nearly finished upstairs. I toyed with the idea of Wallpaper in the En-Suite but more out of me being lazy, I didn't bother.

I'm afraid it's paint for me and tiles in the bathroom / Hallway / Kitchen.

Anything else is just way too much effort.

Paint. We've got a fabulous deep blue Farrow and Ball paint on the bedroom walls. It's got depth to it and looks like you could sink your arm through it. It needs redoing now though. I'll miss it, it looks great with cream accessories.

The bathroom and kitchen need painting as well. Mr P is OK with it as long as he doesn't have to wade through tons of colour options. Now I just narrow down some colours, he tells me which he hates least and we share the painting. I did most of the gloss work last time. It was a bitch finding a decent gloss.

They all sound horrible, Backwards Man. Patterns have no business on the walls of a pub. If he gets any of them you should drink yourself to a wreck at the bar and say "This wallpaper and I are fighting a duel to the death. Either it goes or I do."

just got the whole house insulated on the inside because we arent allowed to do it on the outside with the house being a red brick. so what we did was put up lining paper and then just painted it

My last rented place had gold, shiny patterned wallpaper on the walls in the main sitting room. (You can see it in the background here DSC_0342_zps737c2b08.jpg)

By the time we moved out I really liked it :o

I've two papered walls. The wall behind my bed is a sort of modern floral that continues the colour theme, and the wall above the fireplace is a deep red with a silver shadow abstract pattern that complements the large mirror over the mantel.

I wouldn't use much paper because I don't like the place drowned in texture or pattern, but accent walls can be nice if they're small. I love interiors.

Two pages in and nobody said "jizz and blood"

    I am disappointing AH.

It's an awful awful old carpet. Worst thing about it? The lovely solid beamed wooden floor underneath! Why you'd cover that I just don't know.

You'd want to see the tiles in the other room. They looks like someone threw up fanta orange over the fireplace.

Woodchip was never in, it's the cheapest, nastiest paper and a pain in the arse to strip it off walls. Goes like wet tissue when trying to hang it and was only ever a cheap fix used to cover up bad walls and ceilings.
    Kill it with fire!
