    Hi,

I'm currently getting quotes for installing windows and was wondering if anyone else had experience with German profile kommerling Windows.

Below are the specifics for which I have received a quote. Does anyone know if these are average/poor/good energy efficiency? any comments would be greatly appreciated as i'm a novice at this

    · 5 chambered for extra insulation/2chambered in most other profiles.

    · All joints fully Welded / some othercompanies are mechanical joined.

    · 8 Point locking system on Windows andDoor’s / 3 point on most other windows .

    · Locking Handle’s where required

    · Child Restrictor’s on window’s when required.

    · Stainless steel friction hinges

    · Glass features, 28mm double , 40mmtriple glazed units/some only use 24mm or 36mm triple .

    · Aragon gas filled unit’s with a U valueof 1.0 double glaze/best glass on the market

Nothing wonderful, or poor about those specs.
Pretty standard, comparable with most quotations you will get.

Just to be clear, you mention Kommerling, in the Thread Title.
They, along with Rehau, Deceunick, etc.etc.etc.
make PVC Profile for windows, i.e 6M lengths of extruded PVC ( think sausage machine )

This is sold to companies who cut it, weld it, fit hinges, locks, and glass to make a window.

So you have been quoted for windows made from Kommerlink Profile, who is making the window?

we would prefer not to discuss specific window supplier's here. for reasons explained previously.

    • Op you have not provided a specification or an area of the windows?
    • all you have provided is a sales-pitch of someones website.
    • we have no way of validating your quotation.

mod note moved to prices / costs

Thanks Martinn123. I sent a pm with the company details.

just to be clear I am a new home owner and not representing anyone else. The dimensions are below:

    Window 1 W120cm H56cm
    Window 2 W 180cm H118cm
    Window 3 W77cm H103cm
    Window 4 W178cm H142cm
    Door W85cm H208cm

Break it down a little more, double/triple glazed?

Number of openings per window, colour of frames, and the door, is it a back door, say 1/2glass and PVC panel, or a front door with a nice design.

Finally is it replacement windows, taking out old ones, plastering up etc, or just supply, with someone else fitting.

New home as in new build?

    Hi,

its a new home but built in 1980's approx.

The quote was for white PVC double glazed windows with Argon gas. Two of the windows will have 2 openings and two will have one opening. Its a PVC back door with half glass.

The quote is for installing replacement windows, including plastering and taking away the old windows.

    Thanks!
