Creating Windows 7 Recovery Disk

I have ordered a laptop which comes with Windows 7 pre-installed and a Windows 8 CD or DVD for future use or if preferred etc. etc.

I intend to use Windows 7 and would like to create a Windows 7 recovery disk in case I need to re-install at a future date. I presume I can create this from the installed software? Also, should I use a CD or DVD for the recovery disk(s)? Will the backup of Windows 7 fit onto 1 CD or DVD similar to the discs supplied with computers etc. etc.?

Thank for any help and / or advice.

This is the handiest way to do it really. From what I remember, it takes 2 DVD's to create it.

Thank you very much for this backspacer - much appreciated. I will do this, hopefully over the weekend, if my laptop has arrived. Thanks again.

Sorry, will this CD or DVD be a bootable disc? Say in the event of HD failure, presumably, after installing a new HD, I will need a bootable disk in order to re-install Windows 7?

This would be the bootable disc that you would be creating, you can also create a disc image after you have created the bootable disc to save you some hassle with reinstalling items on Windows 7. Just walk through the steps it shows on the link and you'll be sorted :)
