I had no idea it had anything to do with him til I read the article, never heard of the station though so wouldn't have put two and two together

I think its perhaps lacking class but its hardly newsworthy either IMO

New ad campaign from the competitor
    "Touch the knob"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,009 ✭✭✭Tangatagamadda Chaddabinga Bonga Bungo

It's a bit tasteless, the ad is on the 206 bus which goes passed his house. Fairly funny all the same though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,672 ✭✭✭elefant

How can this guy still have 'fans'?

He had a tom hank sitting in a plane... Don't really feel too sorry for him tbh!

The Archdiocese of Ireland has announced that their priests will not be participating "Don't Touch the Knob" campaign.

LESS than a week now and Neill will be on the air again, and 100,000 Cork listeners will tune in.

The Greatest Station on Earth now will be Red FM, Cork 104 ~ 106 FM. I've switched already, I put a message to *6 in the other thread.

The ad gives an indication of what Neil had to endure these last few years and how low an opinion they have of him now, presumably they held all along. Can't have been good working under that and then they can't match Red FM's cash offer, I'd have thought they would have been glad to see the back of him, the ads shows obvious resentment.

    Go Neil Go!!!

Radio or News & Media or Cork forum tbh.

Coogan is not a great replacement. In fact, I think I might even dislike him more than Prendeville, which is saying something.

It's not a definite that that's a swipe at Prendeville though, in fairness. I believe McGeary.

I don't think I've ever seen a post I cared less about nevermind read. I don't even know what it's about and I'm not arsed finding out that's how little I care. Just thought I'd share.

If you've got it, flaunt it.

Depends on the radio though, if you adjust the frequency or station indicator to Red FM 106.100 until you get the best tuning, one usually only has to hold down the knob and it'll set itself.

It'll come on then at a single touch.

In fairness, the guy had a **** on a plane and blamed nurofen plus. Surprised he didn't come out with the "sex addict" one. Doesn't matter if it was 20 years ago, he deserves to have the piss taken out of him on a daily basis for something like that

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,720 ✭✭✭Sir Arthur Daley

Pharmacists in Bishopstown are rubbing their hands at this. Unprecedented levels of Nurofen being stocked in anticipation!

Poor Neil having to endure all of that. 96fm stood by him and gave him his job back even if he was/is in absolutely no position to pontificate to anybody about anything. Kind of funny really given that the nature of his show is generally to do just that.

It can be no unrelated matter as Mr Geary now says, the word has always been dial.

Leave that Dial where it is on ~ Don't touch that Dial whilst we take a commercial break.

    It's a;
lways been a dial. It has to have been deliberate to change the sing song from Dial to

    Attention seeking.

On topic, love him or hate him, he has an average listener-ship rating of 100,000 people. For a county of just over half a million people, thats incredible.

Search Google for replacement tuning knobs for radios. You'll find quite a lot of results from sites that don't have an agenda against Neil.

I'm not talking about replacement parts for wireless repair or antique restoration, the tuning dial is always refereed to as a dial, the knob is the wooden, plastic or glass bit that affords finger movement, the apparatus is and always was the tuning dial.

Here's the ad that's gonna be plastered all over billboards and buses for the next two weeks. Quite obviously a swipe at Prendeville.

I don't live in Cork but if I did I'd yank the knob so that I didn't have to that gobshīte. The racist crap he has come out with in the past is sickening.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I don't see why. Much as many people prefer to believe the worst for the bit of drama, it doesn't mean they're always correct. Not saying I'm right either, but I don't have sufficient cause not to give Kieran McGeary benefit of the doubt.

I also had actual sex in public too, on one occasion watched by a rookie Guard who later came back accompanied by his Sergeant.

AND he is back this coming Monday, RED FM 104 ~ 106 so you actually have to fiddle with the dial ~ annoyingly, to tune in properly, Red should fix that in the first month that Neil is on air.

Call him up and tell him that.

I don't have any feelings on Prendeville either way, but I find it bizarre that 96FM would take out an expensive campaign on bus sides, billboards, papers, etc. bringing attention to the fact that he is now elsewhere. Why are they not promoting their new guy?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,628 ✭✭✭Femme_Fatale

Lol at "He got his knob out on a plane, it's no big deal" :pac: but it gets a bit overstated too IMO. What's more important IMO is that he's just a professional sh1t-stirrer.

Of course they should, it sends a clear signal to the new guy that they have no confidence in him.

I actually hope there is a position for PJ in Red FM too, tbh.

You implied it's perfectly natural to pleasure yourself sexually in public, the other poster implied that to pleasure yourself sexually in public could well end up with you on the sex offenders registry. You actually reported his post then when it's you made the original point, ****ing hell!

If you didn't realise, you can end up on the sex offenders registry for pleasuring yourself in public. If you think that shouldn't be the case than that's a different discussion.
