Am I being given the run around?

Hello.
I was on jobseekers benefit until the end of November. Was working when work was there previous to that and filled in the yellow slip weekly.

I filled the appropriate form in the local office and had it ready to go once my claim ended.

I received two forms with various questions in the last 3-4 months.

I got called two weeks ago to meet a welfare inspector to discuss going on Jobseeker's Allowance and had bank statements and various other paperwork which wasn't even looked at. I told him my situation and was told that he'd get back to me in a few days.

Still waiting.

I feel like there are a lot of stalling tactics going on, maybe if it goes over a certain length of time that I won't be entitled to any back pay?
Is this normal?

Any info is appreciated.

You will get back pay no matter how long the claim takes.If you have no income in the mean while see here http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/supplementary_welfare_schemes/supplementary_welfare_allow.html

Hopefully. I had a few days worked which they have record of. Still giving them the yellow slips.
It doesn't make a fella feel too good that has worked hard since he left school and all the taxes I've contributed to to be left high and dry.
