I haven't done this before but I'll be doing it this year. I heard this is a great event, very welcoming and friendly. I understand most people did the 60km route last year with a couple of dozen doing the longer route, and there was excellent post-race food and a good atmosphere afterwards.

The 125km route looks mostly flat with a few drags along the way but nothing serious. The 60km route is through the Inagh Valley which is an amazing place to ride. Both routes have a bit of up and down at the end between Maam Cross and Leenane.

The route maps are linked from this page but don't believe the elevation profiles:

If the weather is good (forecast is mild, light breeze, good sunshine) I'll be starting my ride in Westport in time to meet the 10am start in Leenane. Happy to have company - PM me.

cant comment on the event but i was just down in Leenane /mam cross area and the roads are really good. it'd be an absolute pleasure cycling down there. thinking of doing the tour de connemara next month now.

Haven't done it before but I'll be doing the 60K route this weekend. Shouldn't be too bad, especially if you can find a group to ride with. Weather is supposed to be perfect for cycling too.
