Peugeot 206 Radiator Fan Connection

So upon checking my fluid levels in my 2001 Pugeot 206 1.1lx today I discovered that the coolant was completely empty, I filled it and thought nothing of it. Then I was tinkering with the bumper to see if I could fix an issue where the hood isn't flush with the bumper when I saw this:

So it would seem that since I got the car, the radiator fan hasn't been working, because as you can see its not connected to any kind of control or power and where the connector should be has been severed.

    So my question is...WUT DO?

Can't seem to find any of the connectors online or any of the wiring, even new fans (which are far to expensive for me right now anyway) don't come with that part.

Does anyone know what the type of connector is even called? Pic of the place it plugs into below:

    Thanks,
    Dave

EDIT: I should add that surprisingly the car has never actually overheated or thrown up any related warning lights...

Peugeot main dealer should have it the male part of that connector. Take it to an auto electrician, wires might need re-joining. Your car probably had an accident and severed/damaged the connection/cables and whoever serviced couldn`t be arsed to fix it.

Wouldn't be a 2nd air con fan or anything? Just guessing really seems odd that wiring and plug are missing

The fan plug should have two heavy cables feeding it and they usually have a red tab on the plugin connector,
Have alook at the back of the bumper as this cable must be somewhere....
If your still in trouble pm me your vin number and i'll look up the wiring diagrams for your 206..:)

Thanks for all the advice guys, the general consensus would be that it was in an accident before I bought it, lesson learned for next time!

The only reason I noticed this in the first place was because I had the grille off to try and fix the bumper not being flush with the bonnet...so yeah, some sort of front end collision.

Thanks man, probably take you up in that when I get home...no sign of any other cables bar those two small ones, and the empty connector that clips onto the body on th right side of the bay behind the lamp...

I have seen that connector loose in many 206's and its never used.
Follow the main harness from the engine bay fusebox and you may find it.

Sorry it took me so long after I asked for help to get back to you lol...but I tried finding any possible disconnected wires it could be again today and still can only find the 2 thin ones in the pic. I think if I had a bit of a better idea of what i'm looking for or where it comes out of the harness it'd help a ton!

Gonna pm you my vin number now, hope its still ok to do so!

    Thanks ;)

I have attached the various cooling fan connectors/harness layout which you should have on your 206.

So I went out to the car today and took of the grill...etc...so I could get a look at the radiator/fan and wiring. I decided I couldn't see well enough with just the grill out so I decided to remove the fan and its shroud too. As you can see from this pic below, there are no wires running to that area at all, bar the bonnet release cable:

    https://www.flickr.com/photos/downgoesspiral_/13722904973/

In the whole of the engine bay there were only 2 other disconnected/severed cables bar the connector behind the far-side headlight that I was told not to worry about. One (first link below) is located splitting off from the nearside headlight connectors, and appears to be just an unused/extra headlight connector (I checked and that headlight is not missing any). And the other (second link below) is the same severed cable located on front of the fusebox/behind the far-side headlight, which feeds into the main loom on that side.

None of the connections in the diagram Row linked me were present, including the one that should go directly into the fusebox (forgot to take a pic but no hint of a cable where the diagram said there'd be).

The next two pics linked below, are of the shroud/radiator fan itself. Which, due to the lack of connections matching row's diagram, I must assume to be a third party part.

    https://www.flickr.com/photos/downgoesspiral_/13723261464/

It also appears that the connector/socket on the fan motor itself is the only wiring point, so after some searching on micksgarage I'm pretty sure I've found what exact shroud/fan it is:

    http://www.micksgarage.com/proddetails.aspx?pid=1529025

...but that still doesn't help me figure out how to wire the damn thing and there's no documentation for the part afaik either. It's probably also worth mentioning that I couldn't find a radiator fan switch on the radiator itself either...

So yeah, if anyone has any clue how it should be I'd love to be enlightened! :P

Also, while I'm at it I saw this just inside the lower bumper and was wondering what it was lol:

    Thanks,
    Dave

Seems like you had butcher working on your 206 at some stage...

What i would do is get a wiring loom with all connectors from the same year/engine (broken) 206 ideally still on the car where you could take note where each connection goes....Otherwise your really shooting in the dark.

I've been thinking of that alright, just wanted to make sure there wasn't another option given my general ignorance on the subject :P

I also contacted the manufacturer of the shroud/fan but naturally got no reply.
