Hi, I need to remove battery of 2003 VW passat 1.9TDI car.

The original VW radio was already replaces from car with a after market radio. If I remove the battery ,would I need radio code for this second hand radio on the car?

Note : There was no user or audio book in the car, while purchasing it.So I dont even know the original radio code of car.

Not unless there is a pin on the aftermarket radio which is very unlikely.

So,do you think that I can go ahead and remove the battery ? I was not sure about the code or pin. Just curious about the radio,if it doesnt work after I remove the battery.

    Thanks for quick reply.

The original radio code is tied to the original radio so if you have an aftermarket radio then you are safe to remove the battery.
