The news of his death his me like a bolt, I'd brought my two children on his tours of Glasnevin cemetery many times, and my daughter has continued our tradition of taking his tour every Easter Sunday.

His death is a massive loss to historians everywhere.

    May his rest in peace

I never met him, but knew of his name. We have certainly lost a historian, and to his family, a much loved man.

Thanks for sharing that. I knew him. It's very sad.
