    Below is maintenance menu..

Clean Wand automatically purges after use obviously, so not really needed.

I had to Group Head Clean for the first time yesterday - after being prompted - which is tablet in portafilter and is carried throughout the machine and output into drip tray. Takes 5 minutes and is painless.

Not had to descale or replace water filter yet.

The only other areas to clean are drip tray occasionally and where the coffee grounds dispense can have a bit of sediment - as below:

It's pretty much a closed unit other than that.

ECAM22.110.B delonghi cannot be beaten on price. I bought the ecam 4200 in 2013 and it lasted until 2020 and then I went for the ECAM22.110.B

I don't regret a day of it. Even though it is 100 extra over the 4200, it is a better machine as the 4200 used to have issues. The 110B has not missed a beat and if it fell over tomorrow (after easily 2k coffees), I would get another

    The 4200?

If you take the coffee dispenser drawer out does it close?

I've had an issue when the dispenser sits too low and blocks the door closing. Think i had to put something below the dispenser, the door then closes. When you reopen the door all is good and you can remove whatever you put under the dispenser.

Ive a Melitta which replaced the original delonghi. wouldn't buy one again.

I don't like the way it rinses internally into the drip tray in addition to anything that comes out of the coffee nozzle. I'm fed up emptying it.

I bit the bullet and got this one. So far so good, much quieter and the coffee seems to be hotter. Thanks LK.

Looking for some help. This has maybe happened to someone else previously. Hopefully it'll be something simple.

When I try to make a coffee the drawer light comes on and coffee won't pour. Obviously I've emptied the drawer and also given the machine a decent clean.

Anyone have any ideas how I can fix this please?

i think it was here on boards that i once read there is a piece of plastic that sticks out from the tray itself that triggers the machine to let it know the tray is in place.
Perhaps this piece i broken off and the machine thinks the tray is not inside - have a look at the tray and make sure there is no rough edge anywhere

    this bit i think

Thanks for the reply and help. It was wrecking my head, as it was recognising the drawer and the door but every time I pressed for coffee the drawer light would flash. Ive sorted it. It appears the one of my children had turned the grinder setting dial to ground coffee so he machine was looking for ground coffee to be inserted.

Before I advertise, in case anyone here is interested I have a ECAM2346 (bean to cup espresso & cappuccino machine) available for sale. In perfect working order & comes with all the usual accessories & descaler. Been faultless for me over the last few years, but I have upgraded to a Ninja Cafe Luxe to try something different!

    Full details/review here: https://beantocupcoffee.co.uk/delonghi-ecam-23460/

Based in Dublin 15, drop me a PM if interested and we can work out a deal 👍️

Has anyone encountered an issue with their ESAM 4200 where the drip tray/waste light is coming on after 2 or 3 pucks are in the waste bin?

The tab on the waste is intact, and the slot it fits into is clear. As of yet I haven't done anything more than clean the tray, check the tabs and slot. I'm assuming the issue is whatever mechanism the sensor within the slot uses.

Has anyone encountered similar? Or if someone can point towards any info on the tray sensor? I'd appreciate it greatly.

I've had the same issue for a while now but don't have a permanent resolution.
Sliding the tray out and back in usually works. If it doesn't, sweeping out any coffee at the bottom of the machine and then sliding back in does the trick.

Its a pain but the machine still works so I'll live with it.

Still the best bargain alert I've got on here!

How is the Ninja Cafe Lux going? Have been looking at one.

Thanks and I agree with you, the best and longest lasting bargain I've ever had from here.

I'll take the base apart over the weekend on the off chance that there is either a spring or sensor misaligned in the slot.

I'll let the thread know how it goes.

delighted with it, has cut down my expenditure in my favourite local coffee shop significantly! Great machine so far

Ok thanks, do you find it a good bit better than the ECAM2346?

I had a delonghi dinamica but didnt like it and ended up selling.

it’s a totally dfferent type of machine & price point in fairness, but yes I find it much better

    Just on my own issue.

I got out the pipe cleaners and gave the slot where the waste tab fits a good clean and I then used a high pressure/high speed fan to dislodge any crud I missed, then hoovered it out.

That seems to have solved the issue for me. I can only assume that the microswitch in there had been contaminated and clearing it out then allowed it to work as normal.
