So my husband applied for a general operative position in a local factory,
He had a telephone interview,an aptitude test and has another interview tomorrow morning,
I'm just wondering in general how many stages are there?

Don't think there is a general rule tbh. I had 4 interviews for my current job. Had 1 interview for the previous job.

Sure there wasn't a mix and they thought he was going for the management position.

I had two interviews plus a short test for my first job (graduate position).
I had four for my current job (management position).

It can depend a lot on the company. Generally the more senior position, the more rounds of assessment there are but sometimes the company might just be very selective about who they hire.

Does the factory operate in regulated environment such as the food production or pharmaceutical industry?

It's a dairy production factory,it's only for 12 weeks employment covering summer holidays
