    Hi, id be grateful if someone could answer this,

    im considering getting a 2001 1.9 van from a friend for free, that i want to insure and tax privately for hauling sports equipment.

    will my friend owe any vat back as he's giving it to me for free? (cost of van is completely paid off)

    am i liable to pay any vat if I'm registering, taxing and insuring it private ?
