F-Type Patch Panel. Should I Be Worried About GND?

    Afternoon all.....

I'm about to start drilling my metal 2U blank plate to fill with F-Type couplers. Essentially I have 8 pairs of WF100 running around the house and I'm going to terminate them in the one place - the patch panel.

As each of the couplers will be screwed to the metal plate, do i need to be concerned that all cables will be grounded to the same plate? Also note that the Sky box plus perhaps another Freesat box will also be connected to these couplers.

So it will have 8 pairs connecting the rooms (various STB's) and 4 which go to the LNB. I think it should be ok but wanted to check and see if I needed rubber grommets or anything.

Why not just use a multiswitch? and you can send a terrestrial signal around at the same time for saorview?

I don't need it. Have all the bits and pieces currently for the panel.

I may need a multi switch in the future when the kids are older but for now I only need the 4 signals from the LNB. That said the patch panel gives me the option to change STB locations between rooms or within the rooms themselves.

Fair enough I would just suggest you ground the entire bar I would imagine that would be suffice for what u need...

I would personally prefer the multiswitch and never have to worry bout anything again

Won't they all be "grounded" together at the LNB anyway?

More than likely and it's something I didn't think of. I should be ok so.
