Reported Tax Fraud

I reported my landlord for tax fraud in February. I discovered additional information surrounding the fraud at the end of February and passed it on to revenue. The person I was dealing with said that they would be out of office until the beginning of April. I find that incredibly odd that someone in charge of investigating tax fraud or evasion takes such a long vacation so close to the ending of the tax year.

I'm worried that this won't be investigated. Are there any agencies responsible for investigating whether the Revenue does their job properly, like a an Ombudsman?

Tax year (for income tax) is the calendar year (at least in Ireland). UK is still April.
