Hi all.... I have seen a 2012 Skoda Superb on a dealer website - details as follows:

    Selling Prince €22,950
1.6 Diesel with 37000km on same.

    I have a 2010 Octavia 1.6 Diesel with 110,000kms on same - full service history x 1 owner.

'Roughly' and 'on back of a fag packet' - what would I be looking at to trade in the Octavia against the Superb. Not mad keen on starting the ball rolling with the dealership as yet- so just taking sounding thru Boards.ie!!!

I'd wager about 14k based on what someone I know was offered for an 11 reg 2 litre diesel Octavia the other day with 150k on it.

Also the advertised price of €22950 on the Superb is most likely the straight deal price too rather than the retail or trade-in price. So you need to go to another dealer with a similar car and see what money they want to trade-up in order to see if it is a good deal.

Not sure about trade ins but said I'd stick this superb up. It's a 131 with 12k km on it it's a bit more money wise. Reason I said I'd stick it up was that it's my grandparents old car. So I know for a fact it wasn't crashed of clocked or anything like that. Obviously it makes no difference to me which you buy as I have no evolvement in the sale. Just thought it was worth putting up hopefully I'm not going to much of topic sorry I am of no help to you on the cost of change question.

As I said that car is as straight as they come. They bought it last April so it not technically a year old yet . They traded it in for a new model which made no sense to me whatsoever I nearly got sick when I heard how much they gave along with that practically new superb just to get a new model. Anyway if you want to know anything else about the car just pm me or whatever.

If I were you I would personally stay away from purchasing the supurb. My brother had a 10 one & the 2 ecu's (think that's the name) went in it. Garage ended up keeping the car for good & giving him a Volvo. There known to go & if not under warranty from main dealers then your looking at a few grand to get fixed. Both usually go! Luckily his was & he refused to take the car back because they are known to go after being replaced!
