Discoloration on Xbox

With my Xbox hook up to my new tv ( 32 inch Toshiba ) with GTA 5 I am seeing purple discoloration when in dark areas or during the night.

On white, light vehicles or buildings you cant see it but you can on dark vehicles and shadows

So I got a HD cable but its still the same. Toshiba have said try a DVD in the Xbox and via a DVD player to see what happens.

I will try that over the weekend but would anything else be the problem??

Graphics are still great and so are the rest of the colors it's just this silly purple/black.

I don't know for certain but it could be the GPU on the way out.

Try another TV would be my suggestion

OK so I tried another TV and HD cable and no luck.

So it must be down to the Xbox......am I now looking at having to get a replacement under warranty?

Reflow the gpu and see if it makes a difference.

Can u say that in English ha!

I did do a settings reset at start up but it did not seem to do anything.

Edit: just Googled it! Does this apply to the newer Xbox with the built in wifi??

I think he means this :

    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Reflowing+Xbox+360+Motherboard/5845

Some very easy to read instructions with pictures to every step of the way.

PS. If these instructions are posted on this forum, then I sincerely apologize and I will ask that my post be removed as I do not want to step on any toes :)

If the warranty option is available then take it

I think I will, but what are the chances of this problem occurring again!

In all seriousness, what does that matter? It's 50/50 - you either get a broken GPU or you don't :o You've got two options - void the warranty and reflow the GPU which may fix it or get a warranty replacement which will fix it? I know what one I'd be taking :)

As I said in the second post of this thread. I kinda knew it was GPU related but wasn't 100% but after seeing those pictures it's definitely the GPU on the way out. You said it was only a few months old, did you buy it second hand?
