Problem with my esophagus and tongue

I have been having problems with my esophagus for over a year. At first, my symptoms presented themselves with a sore throat and I was threated for that problem but the pain never went away.

Then I began getting a feeling that my stomach was rising to meet my chest and at that point I knew I needed to get to my nearest hospital.

On first inspection the medics thought it was my heart but after extensive testing and blood work; they came back with an elevated ESR reading of 38 and I was referred back to my local GP.

My GP insisted I had acid reflux and gave me meds. The meds somewhat worked but I never felt I had been cured.

Months later I was on holidays and a group of us went for dinner. After eating I began feeling feeling light headed and dizzy. The room felt like it was spinning and I was convinced I was going to pass out. I went home to bed and woke up the following morning with a blister like rash down my left arm. My other half dragged me to the local chemist and the pharmacist thought it was some sort of food allergy.

When I came home I went back to my GP and she decided to do a blood test for celiac. That came back negetive but my ESR was still at 38.

I decided, however, to go on a gluten free diet and low and behold I started feeling somewhat good again.

As a test I came off the GF diet and the blister like rash along with numbness in my fingertips came in it's place.

I'm back on a GF diet and my ESR rate has dropped to 28 but my esophagus and tongue have never been the same.

My tongue has a white coating (not candidia) and aggitated tastebuds to the very back of the it. They are at their most sensitive first thing in the morning.

My esophagus is also tender and sometimes I feel pressure on the sterum (not all the time).

Does anybody have any ideas please?

    hi op

I'm afraid we can't offer suggestions as to what might be causing your problem. go back to your doctor and discuss it, ask for a second opinion or referral if necessary.
