We're Balance BJJ, we're based in Drumcondra, Dublin 9.
We have a 4 week Gracie Basics course, you can train twice per week (Tues & Thurs 7-8pm). There's no start date, you can start whenever you like and do your 4 weeks..
After you've finished Gracie Basics, you can train 7 days per week :)

Pop in and take a look at a class to see if it's what you're looking for

Visit a few places and one will 'click' with you.

Personally I'd recommend Andy Ryan's BJJ Revolution in Baldoyal, or Luke Corcoran C-MAC out in Coolmine.

These are two I've trained with and liked, a lot.. Both coaches also have extensive and successful Judo backgrounds so you'll have both sides of the coin covered.

Check out Kyuzo Gym. We have specific beginner class for MMA,BJJ and K1 Kickboxing. We are located in the Finglas/Cabra/Glasnevin area.

I'd definitely recommend Balance in Drumcondra, my boyfriend trains there and loves it! I went down for a few beginners classes but it's not my thing. But they're lovely people and seem to know their stuff!

Try them all and see which one you prefer and suits you best, different teachers have different styles but all the aforementioned have great reputations.

I have to go up the Barrys place (Kuyzo) at some stage, he seems like a nice and funny guy with my sort of humour!

Kyuzo is a really great place to train. Great humoured group and there's a laid back atmosphere in the classes while still being 100% focused on working hard and getting everything right. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Have to agree, I was very aprehensive about getting into BJJ given that I have a bit of an issue being in crowds and people being in close proximity of me. When I went into Kyuzo, in my first session I lost my sh*t and had a panic attack. But the team there (not just the coaches) guided me through it, and got me rolling again. I really need to get back into it again after taking a break.
My missus is now a regular there along with my brother and another friend, they all speak highly of the place as well.
My brother has been at it about 1 year now and competing for the first time in a few weeks.

The thing I found best about the coaching there is that it doesn't matter what level you are at, they walk you through each move and get through a variey each session. The regulars are also really helpful for beginers, there is no ego in the building.

From your post, I figured out who your brother is :)
