Scrapping a car?

I have a 2000 Opel Astra 1.4 which has a broken clutch and the front bumper is just about hanging on. The bodywork is in a terrible state and it's generally just a junker.

It does happen to have a valid NCT until May and tax until April though - little victories.

Anyway, I've never scrapped a car before and I don't really want to keep looking at it sitting in my garden. What's the best route to take when looking to legally dispose of a vehicle that won't drive? It's based near Drogheda if that's any use.

Put it up on donedeal for 300 quid and see if someone gives you 250 for it.

If nobody does then give it to a scrap yard for a hundred quid.
They will give you an end of life cert for the car.

But yeah, stick it up on sales sites and see if someone is willing to buy it for a few bob. If so you send the send the logbook to Shannon as per usual.
