lads doing a bit of flying next week and am interested in finding out if there is any way of knowing this far out what plane I will be flying on.
I know one will be a Delta 767-300 and an MD88 but being curious and bored I would like to know if I can find out exactly the plane ?

On flight radar I can see what planes flew the routes, but what will fly is much harder to find.

    Is this info unknown/unavailable ?

    thanks

Do they have an online manage my booking type of thing.

You can normally see what aircraft is scheduled for the flight in there.

I think what you're looking for is the actual aircraft registration. The airline will probably not know that until the day of the flight itself.

yes, sorry, I should have been clearer. Its the reg I am looking for.
I had thought that would be pre planned long in advance, I suspected there would actually be a security reason why you might not be able to find out though.

    thanks

Not necessarily a security reason. It comes down to availability of aircraft due to planned or unforeseen maintenance or a delay on a preceding service.

As well, another reason it would be dificult is because of the systems airlines like BA use. BA operate A319 / A320 / A321 aircraft and can switch these between routes depending on demand. Aer Lingus probably do the same switching between A320 and A321 I imagine
