if you have a woman living with you, you might be better going with the rail because they like to shower sometimes without wetting the hairdo, just something to keep in mind

1.5 bar will be plenty and the noise thing is overstated

So im just wasting my money with the 3 bar pump so ya or even 2 bar ??

No, you're not wasting your money, but it depends how strong you like your shower flow, also keep in mind that the water meter charges are coming in soon.

We have a 1.5 bar Grundfos plastic (about €170) guaranteed for 2 years and it's plenty strong, for us anyway.

If it gives up after the guarantee period we'll just replace it with another one like it.

    Perfect thanks.

On the types of mixer showers I have posted what would be the main difference because there is some variation in price ?
or is it just down to looks really.

The 2 bar pump in this range would be my choice of pump

It's a matter of personal preference really allied to your budget of course. Is it a manual mixer or a thermostatic one you'd prefer? Manual won't cost as much, everything else being equal.

Best to go for a known brand anyway, such as Mira, Triton etc

Ya id say im going to go with the Triton I picked out in my first post, going to stick with the rigid head as we have another shower if needs be, but the price difference in the shower between here and the uk is crazy

Only Plumbworld don't deliver outside the uk!!!!

I bought this shower some stores may still have them if you ring them.

It looks good has a large fixed head and also the a smaller wand style for those that want to shower without wetting hair.

Have you installed it yet, is it any good?

I have it installed, and it works perfectly, another plus on the design for me was that all the washers are silicone type material not cheap black plastic that you get in other units,it looks good too.

Fantastic, I'll check aldi today, it seems a real bargain.

Are you on mains pressure/pumped or gravity fed?

This was installed when the bath was removed, bath had a old style mixer unit connected to the bath taps.

It's not connected to a pump so its gravity fed from the cylinder in the hot press and the cold tank in the attic.
