AIB estatement question

    Hi

I just had a look at my AIB estatement for my current account.

There are some entries that I don't understand, and am very suspicious of:

    03/03/14 GTSSDDM140520ZE9 42.95
    03/03/14 D/D HUTCHINSON 3G
    03/03/14 GTSSDDP140570AHQ 338.07
    03/03/14 D/D AIB GROUP

    ^^anyone know what this means?

From my googling, it may have something to do with "SEPA Direct Debit Debtor Statements" ...I don't understand what that means.

I don't owe anyone any money and have always paid my bills on time.

Please help me understand this situation.

    Thanks

p.s. I know the 'Hutchinson 3g' one is the 3 Ireland mobile broadband, who i recently departed my contract with, giving them full notice ... it's only supposed to be 21 euro a month??

Two direct debits were taking on the 3 March.

Three (The mobile phone company) took 42.95
    AIB took 338.07

Edited after seeing your second post.

Can you check on your Three online account for the ebill to see what the charge is for?

    thanks for your quick reply

any idea why AIB would take such a huge amount?

is it a fee or a fine of some sort??

No idea. Do you have any Loans, Credit Cards, Mortgage with them?

Do you have a loan with AIB?

Call you bank ASAP, you can cancel a disputed DD immediately, but you have to call you bank.

    No loans...

but eh, yes a Credit Card of course... I will check that ...

might just be a credit card clearance then...

    BRB...

*yep just checked, it was a credit card payment.

So problem solved - everything in order.

    Thanks guys for your help

(I feel a bit stupid now, but it would help if they just put 'Credit Card payment' in their description instead of all those random letters and numbers)

Glad to hear you got it sorted.

The random letters and numbers are the unique reference for each direct debit. The reference was AIB not sure if its possible for an direct debit originator to be able to use multiple references. E.g. Credit Card, Loan. Would be handy.
