Hi, I was insured with axa and have cancelled the renewal policy as I got a better quote. I've lost the renewal quote as I've moved houses and didn't realise how important it was and now my new insurance company is looking for the no claims bonus proof. I called axa and they said that it'd cost me 15 euro to have the letter reissued. Do they really charge for it or is it just because I'm not with them anymore? -.-

Its an admin charge to reissue documents. Pretty much standard nowadays.

Wow. A bit stupid of them in my opinion. Anyway, we changed insurance companies because we got offered 1000 yoyos lower. Lol. Good luck with the new policy :)

Probably due to you losing it and not being with them anymore tbh

Less than others charge in fairness

Can you not login online and retrieve it?

Already got a replacement. I called back after a 2 days of me posting this and when I did, the guy didn't ask me for any payment method so I guess he wasn't charging me as it was the first 'no-claims bonus proof' document. The first person just didn't like me :P

very stupid of them,i changed because the company i'm now with matched last years premium which was the best I could get, some of the quotes I was getting were 4 figure sums which at my age I hoped were consigned to history

pity wont give me the option of direct debits, otherwise i'd have asked them for a quote, they use the fact I missed 3 direct debits in 3 years (as Quinn direct) against me,and for that any policy I could potentially have with them would need to be paid in full,so NO THANKS LIBERTY as they just quoted me almost 1400 euro

I pay in full, although their direct debit system is very reasonable and you only end up paying an extra €20 or so extra over the course of the 10 months. With a comprehensive policy for just over €300 I'm very happy.

that's ot bad at all,i was expecting similar for my age but the cheapest now seems to be Allianz not the aa,500 quid, its slightly less than last year but not as low as I would have preferred, the AA will be disappointed to learn I have changed my mind :pac: liberty as Quinn were rubbish, but since the new owners came in I haven't had a policy with them

I generally change yearly, as the renewal quotes normally increase in price and I can usually get a better quote elsewhere. Over the years I have been with about 5/6 different companies! I have had the same car for almost 6 years and couldn't understand why renewals were coming out so high! AA have never given me a decent quote, always 600 - 1000euro! Last year with Liberty I paid 430Euro so this year is much better.

You will find that is a standard policy with most businesses offering direct debit services up front. Businesses are not going to take the risk of being burnt by someone with a previous history of not being able to meet dd payments no matter how frequent or infrequent. It's part of your credit rating in essence.

the direct debit fault occurred on their end not mine!!!funny how since I left them I have had none of those issues, and it never affected my credit rating.

So you're not being charged for re-issuing of a renewal quote, you're being charged for re-issuing of the certificate of NCB (which is the only thing your new insurer needs). It's normal for businesses to charge to re-issue documents which they already sent.

    Thread title is misleading.

I called in to ask for a cert of NCB and they said that the renewal quote should do. I asked them if I could have another one as I lost it and they said they would have to charge me.

I called after two days and asked for a certificate of NCB and they didn't charge me.

Surprisingly enough my renewal was only €40 more than last year. I rang back and chanced my arm, they dropped €80 off the renewal. I was sure my nbc protection or excess would be fecked but no, everything as normal with a "discretionary discount" listed.
Liberty on the other hand would only quote me TPFT?
