    Hi guys,

I'm looking for an second hand entry level road bike for my wife. Something like a giant defy 3 or that type of spec. Frame size probably a medium, she is 5 6 or 5 7 ish.
    Cheers

I have a medium sized Stephen Roche ex hire bike that might work for you. It's in reasonable condition and has only been used on his training camp's in Majorca.
It has a carbon frame and forks with mostly Campagnolo mirage parts.
You're welcome to come and try it out if you want.
I also have a frame and forks of the same bike if you want to build one from scratch.

    Hi Mig

Could you post a photo of the frameset and/or the bike?
And let me know the seat and effective top tube lengths.

    Thanks.

    Hi sbs2010

Sorry about the delay getting back to you.
Will try to get pictures up later.
The seat tube on both measures 48.5cm
    Effective top tube is 54cm.

We bought some of these a couple of years ago when they were changing over to Vitus. They're all the same size.
We run a small bike holiday company in Wicklow but have a dealership now with Sensa so we never used the Roche bikes.
We can get anything you see on the Sensa web site if thats any help.

Have my son's Giant Defy 3 2012 size Small which is too small for him. Got it spring 2012 when he was 12 and had done less than 500km on it, in perfect condition, bought from a very reputable Dublin Bike shop who can vouch for it. Was €799 new, defiantly worth €500.

Top tube= 53cm. On Giants website Rider height for small frame is given at 5' 4"-5' 9" so should be perfect.

I note you have a few of these bikes? If so, I'd be interested in seeing some pics too as I might be interested in buying one in the summer for my better half who has been labouring with an old Giant for far too long (and without any complaints despite having plenty of grounds for complaint! - Trooper)

I've no connection with that holiday company but those Roche frames and bikes are nice! I also know the mechanic who looked after them and he is a real pro with 30 odd years experience and is well known in these parts as a perfectionist

    Thanks Mig

I've got a single speed for the missus which might not work out. If it doesn't you're my backup plan.

I reckon I could do that.

But I'd need to get the missus out to yours to sit up on the built bike and give the whole deal the ok.

    Where in Wicklow are you?
