I own and live in a rural area and just bought a small property in another part of the parish. Out of courtesy I met someone living 1/2 mile from my purchase and said that I'd bought it. Within 24 hours, a letter was hand delivered recommending builders to restore the old house, and today another missive arrived-a month after the first-inquiring about what I proposed to do with the land, extolling the merits of the "traditional" Irish landscape, and the telephone number of another person who would be willing to buy the property to prevent me from afforesting the farm, and who would ensure that I made a nice profit! Such patronizing advice I've never before received and I'm both in stitches at the cheek of these people, but also ready to rip someone a new asshole. I should mention that the two people moved into the area over the last 15 years and are not Irish. Unlike me, neither makes a living from the land.
I'm curious as to what personality types I'm dealing with, and how best to manage them.;)

This is not a Psychology Forum query - I'm tempted to move it to Accommodation & Property, but I'm not sure they'd take it...

    1. We can't comment on Personality Types of Individuals.

    2. I doubt anyone can.

    3. Especially on individuals after one incident, and only one person's experience of them.

    4. Look on it as one of life's problems. Try posting in A&P.

    Good luck!
