I'm thinking of buying a Lexus is200 sport but I want one with the limited slip diff for a bit of fun for track days etc.
Is there a sure way of knowing whether a particular is200 is fitted with one?
I know all sport models with aluminium pedals should have an lsd but there seems to be a number of online sellers with non aluminium pedals advertsing them as sport models.
Also does anyone know if it's possible to retrofit lsd diffs to non lsd models?. Do the dash buttons for snow and traction control have to be retrofitted also?. Thanks in advance.

I drive one of these. I didn't know you could get them without the aluminium pedals and the lsd to be honest. They are a good car and I really like it. Id say it is possible to retrofit the diff dunno about the traction control fittings tbh.

I hope you like petrol stations....

A cartell free report will tell you if its a sport. Sports generally have massive rear speakers too.

Snow button is only on the automatic ones AFAIK

yeah only the auto has the snow button, it cuts the fun power a little and the TC kicks in much earlier

Starts it in 2nd gear too I think?

Hang on, the manual ones have a snow button too. Its for engine braking, it cuts power to the engine when you step off the accellerator, also makes throttle inputs more mushy. Forgot the manuals have them too.

So does anyone know if there's any way to telling if the car has a lsd just by looking at it or if there is a factory sticker on the car which would indicate ?.

a factory sport model has an LSD, you might be better off getting an Altezza

Why not go for an Altezza rs200? Better engine and car if your thinking of the trackday route
