Hi, I've an undergrad in financial mathematics and I'mthinking of doing a masters in mathematics, I'm about 4 years out of college and would really like to up skill. I'm working at the moment in Dublin.

Really looking for advice on where I should go and what course I should do?

I'm thinking the open university but would love to hear from people who done a part time masters themselves.

Are you looking for a new job? A masters is mathematics might not really benefit you. I'd pick something more specific to a job your going for.

    I agree with Nappy.

The mathematics involved in a masters will be quite abstract. While it is a VERY rewarding thing to do, unless you plan to do a phd or just want to do it for personal reasons, I would try do a masters in something more closely related to your work.

The computational finance masters in UL is supposed to be decent.

The masters wouldn't have to be on pure maths, something with a finance statistics or risk element would be fine too. I'd be doing to part time which is partly the issue as I'd need to do something with independent learning or in Dublin City centre.

I'd like to hear from other people who've done a part time masters in a marks based course, I'm not worried about the complexity of the course as long as its taught well or the material is good.

I'll have to do a post grad or equivalent at this stage so I thought I may as well just push and do a part time masters.

I should also add, in my current job I deal with a lot of mathematical modelling and statistics, if that can help anyone recommend a course
