    Hi ,

Just looking for some advice. I`ve been working for the same multinational for the past 12years and just before xmas the project I was working on was shut down resulting in the loss of my job and several and a couple of hundred others around Europe.Since then with the help of HR I have tried to find another job within the company but with head count freezes etc... I have had no luck.
In the mean time I have been sent from billy to jack to do any bit of work they can find for me with nothing permanent on the horizon.

Now they have decided to offer me redundancy and although it is not manditory as they have to find a position for me, I`m so stressed from all the running around and lack of any suitable role I`m very tempted to take the money and run.

Question is would I be mad to leave a permanent full time job?
I`m not going to find another job that pays same wage as I`m currently on.
Is roughly one years salary after tax etc... worth taking. Or under the current economic climate would I be better off hanging in?

Don`t know what to do ,help!?!?!

Quick answer is there is no way of knowing until you go!

I left a multinational with a lump sum approx 7 years ago I worked in a niche area,, I enjoyed the nature of the work I did but.. not many job openings in my area of expertise in Ireland- since then
I spent 1 year un-employed (2009) and have worked for 2 Irish OEM's, I've broadened my skill set and stayed working within the same industry, to gain that experience I had to take a big pay drop for about 2 years, but I am now back earning what I consider a good salary again, I am about to move company again shortly to take up a slightly different role.
I would not be inclined to work for a multi-national again after the experience of working for the 2 Irish companies, I find the work more varied, I make more contacts, I get to make more decisions, its not all rosy as cash can be tight ect. but for me the decision to leave was the right one.

Come on now, how can we give advice without knowing your personal circumstances.

    Partner has a job?
    Kids?
    Mortgage?
    Savings?
    Industry and job title?
    Willingness to emigrate?
    Person debt?

    Etc. ...
