Mods take a breath, this post is inappropriate for the star trek forum as it's from a mainstream point of view. So kindly waddle on with your lock and key.

Whenever star trek is being discussed in the mainstream it's usually characters from the original series that are mentioned such as Kirk and Spock. However the characters from The next generation such as Picard, Data and Riker are much more interesting. it's like as if the newer series didn't happen. What's up with that?

The cute little robot/android character is my fave.

Deep Space 9 for the win! Loved it cos it had a continuous storyline with the dominion.

The original series was mad as a bag of cats and had character. The newer series were just situation dramas that happened to be in space, plus they were boring.

    Whooping Goldberg...enough said.

The original series characters are remembered due to it having a massive pop culture impact.

So many quotes and phrases from the original series are still referenced.

However most people are aware of "that bald guy from star trek and xmen"
