    Hi guys,

    I'm considering buying a 2ds.

I know most will say go for the 3ds xl which in fairness I could afford but tbh I just cant justify the spend as it wont be my main console of choice. One of a few to share my time with.

The Zelda XL model in particular looks fantastic but its €240 odd where as the 2ds is about €100 cheaper.

Now I know its entirely different animal. I have done my research.
    • I dont necessarily need the bigger screen although I know it'd be nice.
    • The 3D mode from what I read is used very sparingly and when I've played it in shops I never really thought it was much more than a gimmick tbh.
    • The mono sound also doesnt bother me as I'll only be using it with stereo headphones.
    • Reviews I've seen on youtube seem to praise the comfort of the large unit which btw I'll be using 90% of the time at home so portability isnt a major concern.
What I'd really be buying this for is the exclusives I'm missing out on like the new Zelda game and everyone is raving about Fire Emblem.

I suppose I'm just looking for thoughts really. Has anyone got a 2DS?

Just noticed this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GU7M8BQ/ in the bargain alerts section which changes everything.

Roughly 130euro for a normal 3ds with one of my favourite games of all time in Lylat Wars!

Only problem I have is I was going to pay for this with a one for all voucher I have for €100 so it kinda complicates things a bit as I cant use that on amazon. Now I have to decide do I want to spend €130 on a 3DS and then probably another €100 on the likes of Zelda and Fire Emblem.

Then you wonder should I just buy the Zelda 3DS XL?! More I think about it the more confused I am.

No idea about the 2DS but i'm still rocking the non-XL model from launch and feel no real desire to change that tbh!

My nephew got one for Christmas. Having owned a 3DS and 3DS XL, personally I prefer the clamshell (even just for portability reasons).

Having said that, the 2DS is still a great machine with a big catalog of great games. I say go for it - you won't be disappointed.
