what's the sizing like on the Santini shorts? usually wear medium but I hear you have to size up with these

I have a pair of santini shorts in XL as i was told to size up and they're slightly too big for me. They're an OK fit but the straps are a bit too long. Large would have been perfect.

i'm 5'7" inches and a 32" waist. fit well and would fit someone bigger. suppose best thing to do is check santini size charts.

How much more stretch is there on the shoulder straps?
