Constantly "Searching for Listings"

Since yesterday my Sky+HD box seems to have lost signal. It just sits there saying "Searching for Listings".

I've gone on the Sky forums and tried a few things but to no avail

    1. Planner Rebuild.
    2. Full System Reset
    3. Forced software update.
    4. Front Panel Reset.

If I check the signal section in Settings it says "NOT LOCKED". No apparent damage to the dish either!

Anything else I can do ?

    likely causes:

dish has moved (you can't easily tell by eyeballing it)
cable has corroded or has had water damage at LNB
cable has pulled out or become shorted at receiver

When you go into system details and check signal strength/quality what is being reported for each LNB?

Thanks for your reply. Yes rang Sky last night and it sounds like a physical problem with dish or cabling.

Noticed this last few days and when i went to check Signal Quality Input 2 was at 0% So on further inspection, I disconnected it from the back of the box where I noticed basically the connection on both box and cable was burnt.

What would the likely cause of this be, could it have gotten struck by lightening and traveled down along the cable.

    Anyone got any other theories........

More likely to be water has got into the cable and tracked down to the box, depending on how it was installed. the other possible is that the cable termination on the box has some loose strands, and the box has been moved, which moved the connection. The LNB uses voltages to switch circuits, so a short at the box will upset things.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
