    Hi,

I am a PAYE user. I want to register for ROS. First step is to apply for RAN (Revenue access number). I follow instruction here (https://www.ros.ie/helpcentre/help.html#/?a=onlineServices/eRegistration) and I should be selecting PAYE-Ind tax type. However, it's not visible in the "tax type" drop down menu here (https://www.ros.ie/acl/apply_ran/step1?language=en&country=IE). Tried choosing "income tax" and my PPSN, no success.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks,

The ROS system is looking for your income tax ref no or vat ref no etc. If you are only registered for paye then it's paye anytime for you unless they are making ROS accessible to all.

Thanks! Sorry, I just realized that I should have given more information in the post to give full picture because I may be trying to do the wrong thing.

I am full time employee in Ireland, I am keeping my job, but I am setting my small e-commerce retail business on the side. I want to register as a sole trader. For that, I need to fill TR1 form. I thought that I had to do it through ROS, but I may be wrong. If so, how can I register to ROS?

    Can anyone shed some light?

    Thanks!

You can use the tr1 form to register for income tax as a sole trader or if you are already registered and using paye anytime, you can you use it to e-register as a sole trader. Once you have confirmation that you are set up for income tax then you register for ROS.
