No match thread as of yet?

Anyway, can Arsenal do the "impossible" and beat this "unbeatable" Bayern team - by 2 goals? Unlikely, but sure who knows?

    Line-ups:

    Bayern:

Neuer - Dante, Thiago, Ribéry, Martínez, Mandzukić, Robben, Götze, Lahm (c), Alaba, Schweinsteiger.

Subs: Starke - van Buyten, Rafinha, Pizarro, Boateng, Müller, Kroos

    Arsenal:

Fabianski, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Arteta, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Ozil, Podolski, Giroud

Subs: Viviano, Jenkinson, Hayden, Flamini, Rosicky, Gnabry

You need someone really quick and strong up front against this Bayern team to cause problems

Sky Germany commentator: The acrobatic Per Mertesacker. The BFG. Big f*cking German.

    Jaysus, and he's still down.

He should be handing in his man card.

    Pretty pathetic from Martinez

A German lying down as if he was shot.

Looking at Martinez on the ground is so frustrating, absolutely pathetic carry on.

ITV or TV3 commentators can't decide which are worse!!!

They had Miyachi named, but then removed him when they discovered/remembered he was ineligible.

Is their squad that thin on the ground?

Ah yes the yellow card for kicking the ball away, that rule that only applies to Arsenal in the Champions League.

Did he not chop somebody down early in bayerns possession or was that Arteta?

    Good call by the linesman!

That was Arteta being very silly.

We are boxed in. Ox needs to be the highest player on the pitch. Giroud does not have the pace in this situation.

    Dat run.

So I thought at first. Just booked though.

    Oxlade-Chamberlain with some running!

Sagna got through twice as much work as he should've had to in the first 20 minutes and will be vulnerable later, midfield is completely outpaced so far.

Towards the end of the match I can see it coming down to how much Bayern want to push on.

Oxlade Chamberlain is such a good player, so talented.

Ox impresses me everytime I see him play. Class act and a future Arsenal captain imo.

He should take some tips from Merson.....

    Cynical that

His pace is causing Bayern all sorts of problems

Good player, seems to have a decent brain on him as well.

Always seems to make the right decision.

No it was Vermaelen and it was very late.

Townsend is a bit of a cheerleader on commentary isn't he?

Arteta made a stupid tackle a couple of minutes earlier in midfield.

Tv3 lose picture and sound temporarily, and the commentators yap on, quite obviously working from a studio room

Shame they can't get the ball to him more often, very wasteful in possession so far.

Sagna having an absolute shocker, his positioning all over the place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,057 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

If we get through this injury free i'll be happy regardless of the result.

An Arsenal goal would make this game a lot more interesting.

Partly because he's having to mark 2 players...

Wenger should be instructing the Ox to run at Dante!
