Storage Shed Solution?

    Hi
We have to move in with family as a matter of urgency - persons health deteriorated and need us to live with them. We are renting. We're thinking of where to store our stuff, we could end up living in for 1year+ so continuing renting a house for storage is not viable. We need a quick fix solution. Not sure what are the best options but was thinking of erecting a metal storage shed. Do they require a concrete base? We were not expecting this so dont know where to start.

If anyone has any other ideas would greatly appreciate it. We have looked at renting a space but the facilities are a good distance away and the hours of opening are 9 - 5 not necessarily when you would need them.

Im not sure if this post is in the right area - if not would appreciate a Mod moving it, I cant think of where it should go!

Buy a 40ft container. Its a far easier option. And almost no grief from the planning authority if located judiciously.

Or...there are companies that rent them (20ft ones too). From a planning point of view, note, should be o.k. if only a temporary measure!

Just a quick question on containers, trying to foresee the questions. How will that be delivered and would it be very heavy to go by the foundations of an oldish house approx 60 years old. The house is set in a distance from the road, container would have to go at the back of the house so pass by it?? I remember hearing about not letting heavy vehicles go by the house! Also narrow entrance! A 20ft might be sufficient if we just stack everything in for a year.

You should probably find a company who rents containers (Google) and talk to them about the logistics of getting the container in. I doubt foundations are required.
