Anybody recommend a good one ? Something that would carry 5 bags or thereabouts . Was thinking about getting one instead of a tractor mounted spreader. a good or bad idea ???? Would they last years if looked after ??? Thanks

I had a loan of one for a few days, but the ground was two wet to spread on so I tried it out on a bit of hilly ground I usually spread with tractor.
I found It hard going on quad ,5 bags is a lot of weight on quad brakes ,turning etc.Any spreader will last if minded cleaned after use and stored indoors during winter
Don't forget to wear eye protection as with any spreader, sprayer you have no cab protection on a quad and you are in the firing line.

I would agree that its very hard on the quad. o dont think they were designed to pull or stop that weight. i have a 420 honda that would get pushed around a bit with an empty trailer let alone a full one.
If you want something to spread wet ground look at a spreader thats mounted onto the back of the quad that holds one bag. mine is a CDax.
Its slow but nothing will travel like it. Where a mf 135 on dual wheels would get buried it will travel.
Ground was so wet during the spring last year even the 4wd quad was struggling in spots, i couldnt see it being able to pull a spreader as well.
