I'm trying to sell a car, 2004 CLK 320 Conv and reckon the only chance of getting any value for it is the UK. I have it on Gumtree and was going to put it on autotrader also but its looking for a UK number which is a pain.

Anyone have any suggestions or other sites that would be worth a shot.

    Thanks

Pistonheads is good, especially for guys searching for niche or 'enthusiasts' cars

Cheers, Pistonheads was on my list also - must see what they charge and what they have listed like it.

Owners forums are also a good bet but you might need a certain post count before being allowed post in the classified section.

Yep - autotrader doesn't seem to like an irish mobile in any format for some reason

Have it on Pistonheads now - waiting for advert to be approved by someone which isn't a bad system I suppose

If you go vodafone uk website you can get free sim card just use parcel motel as the address (but you need to sign up parcel motel)

Loot is pretty good too, not sure if it has a problem with an Irish number though >> http://loot.com/motoring

Also try the UK version of donedeal >> http://www.donedeal.co.uk/

EBay is used a lot for car sales in the UK also

It'd need to be pretty cheap to appeal to a UK buyer. Ferry prices are not cheap.

I have it up at about 1k less than the lowest one on pistonheads and there's negotiation room from there so hopefully it will get some interest.

It belongs to a friend of mine, he's older and knows jack about cars but just refuses to pay the tax anymore. I suppose when you look at it as he puts €10k in tax over the last 5 years it does hurt.

Even if I have to drop a chunk of change to account for costs with the travel etc and factor in the VRT rebate I should get him substantially more than you'd get here.
