Great to see things like this happening, anything that gets people back onto bicycles and makes the use of bikes for transport mainstream again is only a positive development..

    A bit steep?
At nearly a grand they can fcuk right off. Is it gold-plated?

Wow pricey. A grand for a single speed (add an extra €600 if you want anything pictured on the bike) Also charging €130 for a brooks B17 with a RRP of €85 is a bit much.

I'm all for promoting Irish businesses, but this is exploiting people with more money than sense. Bragging rights for being the owner of an Irish made bike.

It's also the worst website I've seen in a long time

The music on the pages reminds me of 1996 Geocities websites,

In fairness it's a great business idea - I'm jealous I didn't think of it. But the execution is terrible - it looks nothing like an irish High Nellie (and I did ride one - my brother still had it - late 1940s I think)

I can't really see the website on my phone.

Do they have rod brakes? I assume not! I always associate the high nelly with rod brakes. Used to use my mother's. Rather good bikes, if you're not into maintenance and speed -- i.e. relatively normal.

They don't have rod brakes. It's a modern interpretation of a 1920's-1930's touring bike, something the ordinary person back in the day would never have owned. Have a half doz examples of authentic bikes so not in the market for an expensive reproduction.

    Nope.

    Seemed unlikely alright.

Not really sure what market this is aimed at. For the same sort of money, you get a similar Dutch made bicycle complete with hub brakes, carriers, mudguards, 3 speed upwards etc. The shown bike has few of these "extras" so who woud buy it ?
